Organ-Asm is a celebration of the Organ, bringing together old school and new school backed by an All-Star Band.

Al Kooper: Al Kooper is often referred to as the “Zelig” or “Forrest Gump” of Rock. In a career that spans 50 years, he has managed to turn up at key points in the last five decades. In the mid-sixties, Al was a member of The Blues Project and then founded Blood Sweat & Tears, remaining only for their debut album “Child Is Father To The Man.” He then slipped his producer hat on and began with the top ten album “SuperSession” in 1968 featuring Mike Bloomfield & Stephen Stills. He is well known for his organ playing on Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone.” He played off & on with Dylan for many years, live and in the studio. His playing skills have graced the works of The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Paul & Mary, Tom Petty, Joe Cocker, BB King, Taj Mahal, Alice Cooper, Roger McGuinn, Betty Wright, Trisha Yearwood, Tracy Nelson and scores more. Major moments include playing piano, organ and FRENCH HORN for The Rolling Stones on “You Cant Always Get What You Want,” keyboards on George Harrison’s #1 hit “All Those Years Ago,” keys on “The Who Sell Out,” and on “Electric Ladyland” for Jimi Hendrix. As a producer he is best known for discovering Lynyrd Skynyrd and producing their first three albums including “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird,” “Gimme Three Steps,” and “Saturday Night Special.”

Garth Hudson: Garth Hudson: A Canadian multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of the legendary rock group The Band. Martin Scorsese filmed them with a few well-known friends, The Last Waltz. He was a principal architect of The Band’s unique sound. Known for his mastery of the Lowrey organ, Hudson’s orchestral tone sense and style anticipated many of the sonic advances of the polyphonic synthesizer. Other primary instruments – piano, electronic keyboards, tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, and accordion. You hear Mr. Hudson playing his compositions in several films such as Raging Bull / The Right Stuff (Academy Award score w/ Bill Conte). He has recorded / performed with Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Marianne Faithful, Gipsy Kings, Norah Jones, Los Lobos, Van Morrison, Robert Palmer, Wilco, Neko Case, Thumbs Carllile, Eric Clapton, Dr.John, Bill Frisell, dozens more. He plays in a duo with his wife, Maud; has a 12-piece band, The Best!; and teaches Master Classes when time allows. He continues preparing the syllabus for The GARTH HUDSON Institute featuring his innovative learning methods. Robert Walter: Soul jazz organist Robert Walter has built a reputation as one of America’s heaviest jazz-funk crossover musicians. He has earned international acclaim for his work with The Greyboy Allstars, who are credited with bringing the 60s/70s soul jazz sound to a modern jam band audience.

Marco Benevento: Marco Benevento is one half of the Benevento/Russo Duo. A regular on the New York City contemporary, experimental jazz scene for years. He has performed with countless musicians including, Matt Chamberlain, Charlie Hunter, John Medeski, Mike Gordon, Trey Anasatio, Eric Krasno, Wayne Krantz, John Ellis, Dave Dreiwitz, Mark Friedman, Reed Mathis, Bobby Previte, Ari Hoening, Terreon Gully, Brian Haas, DJ Olive, DJ Logic, Steven Bernsetin, Briggin Kraus, Lyrics Born, Mike Dillon, Les Claypool, Phil Lesh, Skerik, Johnny Vidacovich, Stanton Moore and others.
