Villalobos Brothers / DODO Orchestra featuring TANGO Dancers

~ The Villalobos Brothers ~ The Villalobos Brothers have been acclaimed as one of today’s leading World Music and Classical Fusion ensembles. A trio of virtuoso violinists, singer-songwriters, composers, arrangers, and multi-talented instrumentalists, they have performed at the Latin Grammy Awards, Carnegie Hall, the Guggenheim Museum, Lincoln Center, and much more. Masterfully blending the indigenous rhythms and melodies of their native Veracruz, Mexico with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music, the Villalobos Brothers deliver an intoxicating brew of musical brilliance, cadence and virtuosity that awakens the senses as it redefines the notions behind Latin music.

~ DODO Orchestra ~ A unique retro-world-jazz ensemble that has enchanted audiences with their vivacious energy and a refined repertoire. This NYC-based miniature orchestra is composed of young and talented musicians of the new generation who are everything that is New York — sophistication, cosmopolitanism and the never-ending party. Inspired by beats and sounds from all over the world and moved by the timeless appeal of the bygone era, DODO embarks upon crossing times and places, performing with effortless originality gems of the French, German, Italian and Russian retro. With bold flair they fuse tango and samba, swing and chanson, balkanica and reggae, creating a delicious urban cocktail.

DODO Orchestra will be performing with professional tango dancers Rebecca Shulman and Evan Griffiths. Rebecca Shulman and Evan Griffiths are among most prominent tango performers on the East Coast. Each of them has spent extensive time in Buenos Aires studying with Argentine masters, and they both continue to search for a more expressive, more beautiful way of dancing. Rebecca and Evan are known for fleet footwork, endlessly long lines, and quality of movement. They have been extensively performing and teaching in NYC and abroad.
