CURATORS

SHANIKA HILLOCKS

Versatile and adept, Shanika Hillocks has worn several hats–publicist, influencer marketer, speaker, writer, brand strategist, podcast host, on-camera talent, and content creator–over the last ten years of her professional career. Her written work has been featured in outlets including Condé Nast Traveler, Esquire, Domino, SevenFifty Daily, and Wine Enthusiast, among others. Regardless of the role, the core elements of her practice are authenticity and storytelling for and by diverse audiences. She’s thrilled to take her values and lived experience to her clients and community as Principal of her brand strategy and marketing consultancy based in New York City. Most recently, she was awarded Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40 Tastemakers of 2021.

OSAYI ENDOLYN

Osayi Endolyn is a James Beard Award-winning writer, editorial consultant, producer, and cultural commentator. Her approach to storytelling explores the nexus of food culture, identity, music, and art. Her work is featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Time, Eater, Food & Wine, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, the Wall Street Journal, and the Oxford American. Osayi’s commentary is featured on the Sporkful, Chef’s Table, The Next Thing You Eat, and Ugly Delicious. Her essays appear in the celebrated anthologies Black Food, Women on Food, and You and I Eat the Same. She is on the board of trustees for the Edna Lewis Foundation and Radical Xchange, and she advised PepsiCo’s inaugural Dig In initiative in support of Black-owned restaurants. Osayi is co-author of Black Power Kitchen, the imminent cookbook from Ghetto Gastro, and the bestseller The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food from Marcus Samuelsson. Her own narrative book on American restaurants and dining culture is forthcoming at Amistad/HarperCollins.

FEMI OYEDIRAN

Femi is the co-owner of Graft Wine Shop & Wine Bar in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a self-professed ‘music junkie’ who likes to share the gift of a great glass over the sounds of a great album. He discovered his passion for wine while working at the Charleston Grill, a restaurant that “endlessly rewarded your curiosity for wine & commitment to hospitality” under the encouragement and mentorship of the former Wine Director, Rick Rubel. During his time at the Grill, he made the rare achievement of passing the first three levels of the Court of Master Sommeliers within two years. He is also a two-time national finalist for the Chaine des Rotisseurs Best Young Sommelier in America competition and the winner of the 2017 & 2019 Top Somm Blind Tasting Competition of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. He was awarded Wine Enthusiast’s 2018 ‘40 Under 40′ and was selected as ‘Sommelier of the Year’ by Food and Wine in 2019

CHA MCCOY

Cha McCoy is a highly recognized beverage professional and the founder of Cha Squared Consulting & Hospitality, LLC, an experiential company that focuses on events, tourism, and education. She is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of The Master Sommeliers and holds an Executive Certificate in Wine Management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She has been honored by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as a Top 40 Under 40 Tastemaker and recognized in Wine & Spirits Magazine as a Rising Black Voices in Wine. McCoy’s list of clients includes prestigious organizations such as The James Beard Foundation, Facebook, and NBC as well as a quality selection of wine and spirit brands. Recently, adding to her list of achievements is her new consulting role as the Beverage Director for Charleston Wine + Food Festival for 2022 and 2023 following her time as Cherry Bombe magazine’s first Beverage Director & Editor. Pre pandemic, she worked as a wine merchant for a boutique wine shop in Harlem, New York, The Winery followed by a role as a sommelier for a Michelin Starred restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal.

The only member of the fourth generation, or “G4,” to pursue winemaking, as well as the only female winemaker in the Mondavi family, Angelina has extensive experience crafting highly-regarded wines. The eldest of Marc and Janice Mondavi’s four daughters, Angelina honed her skills while working more than 30 harvests across three continents, and has contributed to making multiple 100-point wines. Before taking the helm at Charles Krug, Flat Top Hills has been her personal passion project where she partners closely with Head Winemaker Randy Herron to drive style and collaborate on final blends. Angelina currently consults for a number of wineries within Napa and Sonoma Valley, including Brasswood Cellars, Harrow Cellars, Allora Vineyards, Castlevale, and Illum, while also crafting her own wines, Aloft and Dark Matter Wines, alongside her sisters. In 2021, Angelina was awarded one of Napa Valley’s Most Intriguing people, and was mentioned as a winemaker to watch out for in San Francisco and Silicon Valley Magazines. Angelina stays involved in the family business as a C. Mondavi & Family board member and brand ambassador and sits on the Board of Advisors for Cast Hope Org and Juju Wine Labs.

RIANA MONDAVI

Riana Mondavi, Brand Ambassador and Director of Chains – Western Region – The daughter of Marc and Janice Mondavi, Riana is the Director of Chains – Western Region, for C. Mondavi &nFamily. Having grown up in the winery, Riana began her career as a Wine Sales Consultant, On Premise, for Southern Wine & Spirits, where she learned the sales side of the business. She officially joined the family business in 2011, working her way up from Pacific Northwest Regional Sales Manager to Northern California Regional Sales Manager and Director of National Accounts, On Premise, before being promoted to her current role.

ALYCIA MONDAVI

The daughter of Marc and Janice Mondavi, Alycia graduated from the University of San Diego with degrees in marketing and management. She earned her paralegal certificate and was a paralegal for five years prior to returning to the wine industry. Today, Alycia is a marketing consultant and helps to manage numerous boutique brands, including Aloft and Dark Matter, two brands she co-owns with her three sisters. In 2012 she returned to the family business as a family brand ambassador.
